Reviewed on www.walmart.com·Jodie
Overall, this TV is just okay. It has a few solid features for budget gamers, but it doesn't really shine when it comes to movies or bright-room viewing. Whether the room is dark or well-lit, the blacks look more gray than deep, and the screen never gets quite bright enough. Colors are fine, but nothing really pops. Gamers might appreciate the high refresh rate, but fast motion gets blurry, which is a letdown.\nIf you're into movies, this probably won't wow you. Blacks aren't rich, colors feel a bit washed out, and HDR doesn't add much. Lower-quality or streaming videos look soft, and you might notice some visual glitches. On the plus side, slower scenes play smoothly.\nIn bright rooms, this TV struggles. It doesn't get bright enough to fight glare, and reflections can be distracting. Blacks stay consistent, but colors only look okay under strong lighting.\nSports viewing is hit or miss. Colors are accurate, but fast action gets smeared and blurry. You might notice dirty-looking patches on the screen, especially during hockey games, and low-res streams look soft.\nFor budget gaming, the high refresh rate and low input lag are nice perks. Still, the constant motion blur and weak HDR make it less exciting. Dark scenes look faded, and highlights don't really pop.\nTo sum it up: this isn't a bright TV. It works best in dimmer rooms. HDR content doesn't stand out, and glare is always an issue.\nIn bright scenes, blacks look faded — though at least they're even across the screen. There's no weird blooming, but you don't get strong contrast either.\nColors look pretty good in regular mode, but HDR accuracy is off. It struggles with both really dark and really bright scenes, so don't expect super vibrant visuals.\nUpscaling and motion smoothing could use work. Low-res content looks blurry, and compressed videos show weird artifacts. HDR is dimmer than expected, and you'll sometimes notice color banding instead of smooth transitions.\nThe TV responds quickly, but motion blur is a constant issue. It's okay for budget gamers chasing high refresh rates, but not great for fast-paced games or action-heavy shows.

Honestly for the sheer size...
Reviewed on www.walmart.com·Joser
Honestly for the sheer size and quality for the price I'm rather impressed. Bought this thing on a whim because of the sale. Didn't go into with huge expectations because I know Oled picture quality tends to be the best out there so far, but honestly for it not even being a mini led television and the tv punches above its weight in my opinion. Now this doesn't mean it doesn't have flaws, clearly the motion on the tv can be a bit hit and miss depending on the content and what you're viewing it on (depending on 1080 or 4K). But where it makes up is the HDR content and picture quality for me. I'm no expert on Nits on a tv but from my own eyes and coming from a 2022 LG 75 inch this thing pops on color and brightness on highlights. Fire and lights burn bright and give details I feel I was missing on my other television. Also because of the 98 inch screen the amount of details in the picture stand out. I've been rewatching movies and realize I'm able to see details that once didn't feel present to me on the LG, mind you my LG wasn't the highest end model but it was a very capable television for its time. Overall I do recommend this tv for anyone who's on a budget and wants that "home theater" feel. On a final note, the sound quality is also no slouch. This thing is loud, and yes loud doesn't always mean good but for the price it feels decent to use the tv speakers. I don't feel the need to turn on my Bose soundbar, my other tv NEEDED IT. This new TCL has really impressed me, which even typing this out has still surprised me to say. Hopefully someone finds this somewhat helpful.

Great picture quality, My reason...
Reviewed on www.walmart.com·Dubie
Great picture quality, My reason for Not 5 stars is as follows- I have a home theater setup and am very disappointed with the Google streaming app. I connected the toslink audio out to my receiver and the Google streaming app only sends in 2ch stereo. The HDMI-connected and air TV devices will pass through the encoded surround channel encoding through the toslink.. So if you have a external speaker setup and you are paying for Hulu, Peacock, Netflix, etc or any streaming service that streams in Digital Surround, or Atmos you aren't getting it. You have to use a pseudo surround of Nero 6 or Dolby PLII. The only way to get streaming surround is to get an HDMI Dongle at least on TCL SMART TV with Google Streaming. While I don't know for sure about TCL SMART TVs equipped with ROKU streaming, I would assume it would be the same deal of just getting 2-channel transmission through the optical out toslink to external speakers and theater setups. While not a deal breaker, it is a disappointment and I want people with external sound system setups to be aware of this limitation in using any of the streaming services built into this TV. If you don't have an external sound system setup this TV will meet all your expectations as the built-in sound does just fine in being clear and with good volume, but don't expect any wow factor no matter what setting you put on it

Extremely Cost Effective

The TCL Q7 is one of the best TVs you can get at this price point. The main draw for me was the native 120 hz refesh rate (though it can get up to 144 hz through AI enhancement) along with Dolby Vision, as I mainly use this TV for gaming on my Xbox series X. Speaking of my Xbox, it works seemlessly with the TV as theres a setting you can enable that allows the TV to turn on and switch to the correct HDMI when you turn on your console, meaning no more forgetting which HDMI your consoles plugged into and having to finick with the remote just to play some video games. The Google platform used for the Q7 also performs above and beyond my expectations, as most streaming services you might use on a daily basis will be preinstalled if you chose to log in with your gmail. On a seperate note, I had previously ordered the exact same model of TV through Amazon, but it was cracked after the delivery guys dropped it on my porch, despite there being 2 of them as opposed to the single person sent by Walmart (it was actually Maersk/Pilot Frieght, through Walmart) which I was extremely impressed by due to the steep slope of a driveway he had to bring it down. Anyways, Id give it 10 stars if I could.

Pretty sure we paid around $350.00 for our Toshiba 26” CRT (picture tube) (no, really) HDTV. When the picture started folding over on itself at the top of the screen, we replaced it with a 42” Westinghouse for about the same price. It started developing the dreaded hot spots. One was tolerable but two were impossible to ignore.\n\nMy chin is still smarting from dropping when I saw the price for this TCL 43” set. The thin bezel makes the screen look even bigger and the 60 fps QLED screen makes everything look like a movie. I chose this one because we already have a Roku Ultra, so Roku TV would be redundant. I skipped setting it up for Google TV and didn’t even unwrap the remote control because my GE universal remote by Jasco works perfectly. The second code on their list works all of the necessary buttons. The TV supports two-way control with the Roku Ultra. You can turn it off from the Roku home screen and turn it back on by waking up the Roku Ultra.\n\nSetup was no-brainer simple, and if you turn on more bells and whistles than you want, a factory reset doesn’t take that long.\n\nIt’s a keeper!

Stunning, the TV is absolutely stunning. I am an avid TV guy. I am also a System administrator with over 16 years of experience. I have bought plenty of TV's and have professionally tuned every single one of them. This TV is nothing short of amazing. I bought the 85" and upgraded from a 65 inch LG 4K UHD TV. This is the Q651G not the Q650G. TCL has seemed to resolve all complaints from the Q650G. As far as WIFI goes, I cant speak to that. It seemed solid for the little amount of time I used it. I hard wired it once i moved my router. If you're technsavy you can make the proper adjustments on the router. Viewing angles are good, processor was upgraded and is quick, Google TV is the only OS I will buy now. You can side load apps, connect an xbox or PlayStation remote. Darks are dark, whites are white. its a budget TV for the ones wanting 120 fps. I cant speak to longevity but I bought an extended warranty because it was $100 so why not tack it on. For those on edge out there, make sure your getting the 651 and enjoy.

I have it set up in a 15x15 room and it is a perfect size for a TV room. the pictures are larger than life and the quality is amazing. I've never owned a TCL this is the first time and I would highly recommend it. I have not had any issues for the first time ever purchasing a new TV it was all Plug and Play even with my cable TV service which is not even needed anymore with all of the apps available on Google for Android. it also works with Google home and fully integrated to the rest of my house. I can see who's at my front door and also open my garage without leaving my chair. I'm assuming it works with Gemini I haven't even gone down that path yet since Google Assistant has been amazing with controlling everything

I got this TV several days ago. It is freaking amazing and was so worth the price. For context, my last TV was a 40 inch 3D LG TV bought brand new in 2011 for $1700 (it still works). 4K HDR content looks amazing on the TCL tv. The sound quality is also not bad for being built into the TV itself. I paired it with a Vizio 5.1 surround sound system via eARC and it works great.\n\nWalmart has these kinds of devices for black friday every year. They are basically a dumbed down version of the higher tier model. Last year I bought a surround sound system that was sold as new but was essentially a refurb unit from my local Walmart. Fortunately, that does not seem to be case for this TV. This TV is a dumbed down version of the TCL 98Q651CG. As far as I can tell it is missing a few ports from that model and everything else seems to be the same. The $400 USD lower price was so worth a few less ports I never use anyway.

Easy initial setup, once you 'get it'.\nThe remote action (pause, close caption, settings, etcm) is not as intuitive as Roku or Fire, but the menus are probably cleaner.\nEvery channel registration should come with a QR code link (which suck), and Google should remember your cable TV provider if applicable for registration versus logging on and repeating the same process for every streaming channel.\nSome issues with channels / apps not remembering registration (like Gotham app) and having to be reinstalled or TV shut off multiple times.\nSound quality is not very good, so a sound bar is recommended.\nTV feet are very good, raised, so you can get an unobtrusive, unobstructed Soundbar.

This TV does not have pause button? it also has a backward and forward button so you can replace something you might've missed didn't understand. With all the features that TV has an update. The TV worked flawlessly up until Sept 2024. No there was not a problem with the TV. The problem was my grandson who flew a toy drone into the TV at full speed. Great so now I have a reason to get a new TV. I bought this TCL 43 Qled class TV, what a fantastic TV. Picture was amazing, feature rich and the price was amazing. I love TCL TV's because TCL gives so much for the price and the TV's last. In December I think I'm going to buy my grandson another drone to he can fly it into the living room TV. Then I'll have an excuse to get a new TCL 75 inch TV :)

Tried getting the screen saver to circulate through a google picture album but unable to get it to stay. Screen saver keeps going back to random scenery photos. Setup was a cinch. Turning on the tv is fast and moving between apps is fast as well. There are several inputs/outputs for accessories although I only use the ARC for the Ultimea surround sound. This tv makes older low resolution programs/movies look great. I also bought a Sam's Club wall mount that allows easy access to the back. I added a govee 3 pro led light system that ramps up the whole experience. \nYes I would buy this tv again and I do recommend it to anyone who asks.

For the $ spent, this is a 5 star t.v. Are there better pictures out there? Sure....But you would spend 4 or 5 times the $ to get it. I replaced a $2000. Samsung that had amazing clarity. It still worked, but had a line at the top that popped up a few weeks ago. Before I switched them, I put them next to each other to compare....Samsung was a tad bit sharper. It was a 240 refresh rate (13 yrs. old 3D), as opposed to the 60 the TCL has. But not enough difference to make me want to spend anorher $1000. It seems like no matter what channel or app I choose, I have to create an account, give it my email address... create a password... tell it my age... sexual preferences... well... you get the idea. Very intrusive, and leaving you wondering each step of the way if the selections you make are going to result in additional monthly subscription charges. The Roku version of this TV did not create that type of uncertainty.

If you want quality HDR and inky blacks you'll need to look elsewhere and have a larger budget, but it looks nice for the price.
